Gooseberry Announce Simple Sucker LP & Share New Single “Durak”

Gooseberry have announced their sophomore album Simple Sucker, set for release September 25. The Brooklyn trio continue to build on their blend of alternative rock, indie, and blues, shaping a sound that leans into sharp hooks and character-driven songwriting. The album follows their debut All My Friends Are Cattle and marks a step forward as the band expands both their tone and thematic scope.

Leading the release is the new single “Durak,” a satirical, punk-leaning track that centers on a self-assured but unreliable narrator. Built around a more direct and aggressive delivery, the song draws from ‘90s alt-rock influences while taking aim at arrogance and misplaced nostalgia. As an introduction to Simple Sucker, “Durak” sets the tone for a record that leans into irony, perspective, and the tension between confidence and self-awareness.
