Modest Mouse Announces An Eraser and a Maze, Share “Picking Dragon’s Pockets”

Modest Mouse have announced their new album An Eraser and a Maze, set for release June 5 via Glacial Pace Recordings and Virgin Music Group. The record marks the band’s first full-length in five years and their first release on Isaac Brock’s Glacial Pace imprint following a long run with Epic Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has shared the opening track “Picking Dragon’s Pockets,” a driving, anthemic single that leans into Brock’s characteristically direct and fragmented lyricism while setting the tone for a record that pulls from multiple eras of the band’s sound.

In support of the release, Modest Mouse will embark on a North American tour beginning in May, with a stop in Atlanta on September 20 at Shaky Knees Festival. The run includes a mix of headline dates and festival appearances throughout the summer and fall, with additional stops in cities including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The tour follows the band’s continued output since 2021’s The Golden Casket, carrying new material into a live setting that spans both theaters and large-scale festival stages.
