Lowertown Share “Mice Protection,” Announce Atlanta Stop at Masquerade on Ongoing Tour
Lowertown have released “Mice Protection,” the final single from their upcoming album Ugly Duckling Union, due out this Friday via Summer Shade. The track introduces many of the record’s central themes, balancing lo-fi folk textures, punk instincts, and surreal storytelling while reflecting on instability, perspective, and creative burnout. Written and recorded independently by Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg, the album continues to expand on the duo’s genre-blurring approach while remaining closely tied to the DIY roots that shaped the project in Atlanta’s underground scene.
Currently on tour in support of the album, Lowertown will bring their live show to Atlanta on June 17 at The Masquerade (Hell). The North American run stretches through June before continuing into the UK and Europe this fall, following growing attention around the band’s increasingly immersive world-building and online community. Across Ugly Duckling Union, Lowertown frame themes of isolation, fandom, and connection through a larger conceptual narrative centered on finding community as outsiders.
